octobackup:cronstring

The CronString

The cron string at octoBackup is very similar to the unix cron string and consists of 7 fields:

  <Mi>;<Ho>;<Da>;<Mo>;<Ye>;<Dw>;<Wy>

Each filed can be a

  • a single number (e.g. 8)
  • a numer list (e.g. 2,5,7)
  • a number range (e.g. 2-5)
  • a wild-card (e.g. *)

Each field also can be combined with a stepping (e.g. /2). A value of '*/2' at the hour field means - to it very two hours.

Fields:

  • Mi Minute
  • Ho Hour
  • Da Day
  • Mo Month
  • Ye Year
  • Dw Day of week
  • Wy week of year

Examples:

  • 0;8;*;*;*;*;* Every day at 8 am
  • 0;*/2;*;*;*;*;** Every two hours
